PartyRoom ("we", "our", "the app") is a multiplayer party game app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or browsing history.
- We do not use advertising trackers or sell your data to third parties.
- We do not collect data from children under 13. The app is not directed at children.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Device ID: Used to maintain your token balance and connect you to game rooms. Generated locally on your device.
- Account info: Only collected if you choose to sign in. Used to display your profile and save game stats across devices.
- Purchase data: Transaction IDs from Apple App Store and Google Play are stored to validate purchases and prevent fraud. We do not store payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple and Google.
- Error reports: Crash data and error logs are sent to Sentry to help us fix bugs. These may include device type, OS version, and app state at the time of the error. No personal information is intentionally included.
- Push notifications: If you sign in, we request permission to send push notifications. Your Expo push token is stored so we can deliver game invites from friends. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Friends & invites: When you add a friend, we store the connection between your accounts. Game invites (room code, game type, sender) are stored temporarily and expire after 1 hour. Your friends can see your username, avatar, and whether you are currently online.
- Online presence: When you are signed in and the app is open, your online status is visible to your friends only. This data is ephemeral and automatically expires within 90 seconds of closing the app.
4. Third-Party Services
- Supabase — Authentication and database hosting. Supabase Privacy Policy

- Apple App Store / Google Play — In-app purchase processing. Governed by their respective privacy policies.
- Expo — Push notification delivery service. Push tokens are sent via Expo's servers to Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM). Expo Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude API) — Used server-side to generate game content (questions, prompts). No user data is sent to this service.
5. Data Retention
- Device accounts: Token balances are retained indefinitely unless the account is deleted.
- Signed-in accounts: Profile and stats are retained until you delete your account.
- Game rooms: Room data is stored in memory only and automatically deleted after 1 hour of inactivity.
- Error reports: Retained in Sentry for up to 90 days.
- Friends & push tokens: Friend connections and push tokens are retained until you remove the friend or delete your account. Game invites expire after 1 hour.
- Online presence: Automatically expires 90 seconds after you close the app. Not stored permanently.
6. Your Rights
- Delete your account: You can delete your account and all associated data (profile, stats, game history) from the Profile screen in the app. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Guest users: Guest data is tied to your device ID only. Uninstalling the app effectively removes your association with that data.
- Data requests: To request a copy of your data or ask questions about this policy, contact us at the email below.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), server-side receipt validation for purchases, and rate limiting to prevent abuse. However, no system is 100% secure.
8. Tokens & Virtual Currency
Tokens purchased in the app are virtual currency with no real-world monetary value. They cannot be exchanged, transferred, or refunded for real money. Token balances are tied to your device and/or account.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
